Writer’s Week 2018 Continues: Julie Halpern
As day two of Writer’s Week concludes students meet an author.
Author Julie Halpern joins Antioch Community High School on the second day of Writer’s Week: Traditional storytellers.
Native to the Chicago suburbs, Julie was a librarian before she became a stay-at-home mom and an author. She has two children and a husband who is also an author as well as an illustrator.
She has been writing since she was a very young and has used it to document important events in her life, such as her battle with depression as a teen. Some of the novels she has written include Meant to Be, The F-It List, Have a Nice Day, and Get Well Soon.
Julie continues to work other jobs other than being an author because she never knows how well a book will sell, but she continues to write and hopes to one day make it a full time job just like her husband.
Her presentation was interesting and is certainly something Antioch students will remember in the future.

As usual, Julie”s research-based approach to the topic of referrals continues to be a great resource for everyone in our industry. Thanks, Julie! Very helpful information. BILL
