Junior George Bessette wins his weight class sectional.

The boys wrestling team once again has members heading down state this year. Four members led the Sequoits down to state after placing at sectionals. The boys put in countless hours, cutting weight and getting through the tough mentality of the sport just to make the trip down to state.

And it is worth it.

Junior George Bessette who won his sectional at the weight class of 195 said, “It feels great to make it down to state again this year. I am going to try to redeem myself from last years performance.”

Senior Nathan Dlugopolski who wrestles at the weight class of 126 took second place this past weekend at sectionals losing to the number one ranked wrestler in the state. Nathan who placed last year at state said, “For me, the work has not paid off until I am standing at the top of the podium. As a returning placer I can’t expect anything less of myself.”
