Who Won ‘The Bachelor’?
Season 21 of the hit ABC series wrapped up leaving contestant Vanessa Grimaldi with the final rose.
This season of ‘The Bachelor’ featured 36-year-old Nick Viall, a software sales executive from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On the season finale, he got down on one knee for the Canadian special education teacher, Vanessa Grimaldi. The 29-year-old from Montreal competed alongside 29 other women for the chance to find love with Viall.
When previous season 10’s Bachelorette Andi Dorfman said goodbye to Viall in 2014, fans thought they had seen the last of him. However, the brunette drew fans for a second time while appearing on another season of the Bachelorette, and the spin off show, Bachelor in Paradise. Fans were even more shell shocked hearing that the hopeless romantic would feature on his own season which premiered on January 2, 2017.
“I think they hinted at who was going to win the entire time,” junior Rachel Moore said. “I wanted Raven to win, so I’m disappointed.”
Viall finally found love after battling through a highly dramatic and unanticipated season, which lead to a four-carat Neil Lane ring, estimated to be worth $92,000 – $100,000, according to E! News. The proposal took place in Rovaniemi, Finland, after Viall sent home runner up Raven Gates, a 25-year-old fashion boutique owner.
“I watch it a lot,” sophomore Katie Vilardi said. “It’s really interesting near the finale.”
Before the end of the season finale, ABC spoke out on the upcoming ‘Bachelorette’ season, revealing the casting of Season 21 contestant Rachel Lindsay as the first black Bachelorette. The fan favorite will begin her journey to find love when Season 13 premieres Monday, May 22 through ABC.
