Happy 100 years, Sequoits! Keep a smile on your face every day because Antioch Community High School has something for everyone to enjoy.
ACHS has so much to offer for students throughout the year. There is a variety of sports like football, tennis, soccer, basketball and many more. There are also clubs like student council, interact club, and the cardinal crazies. Along with joining sports or academic teams and clubs, there are many other events for all students to enjoy.
Homecoming is one of the largest events to kick off the school year. From the pep assembly to powder puff and dodgeball games, the parade and bonfire, then ending the week with the homecoming football game. After homecoming comes to a close, Summer in Winter Week is another loved festive activity that happens at ACHS each year.
Outside the walls of ACHS, downtown Antioch has a variety of activities that occur throughout the year. The carnival and the taste of Antioch are only two of the many fun events that happen in the community.
“Antioch is overall a pretty relaxing place because there are a lot of places to do outdoor activities. Downtown, there’s Cafe Book which is always a good spot to hang out with friends and enjoy a cup of coffee. I like going to ACHS because I’ve been going to school with most of these people since junior high, even elementary. I like that it is a close knit community,” said junior Alicia Vazquez.
Many people prefer living in a small community because it all feels like a giant family instead of a big city atmosphere. Everything is at a walking distance and, in the summer when everyone is out of school, it is easy to stay connected in the community.
The feeling of a family environment makes the friendships and bonds stronger in the halls of ACHS. This is why the Antioch community is so enjoyable.
