Is there really a difference between all of the various kinds of leggings? According to the students of ACHS, the answer is simple: yes. The best leggings are key to an optimal workout. There are many factors that go into the overall judgment of leggings. Qualities such as the fit, style and material all have an impact on the quality of the leggings.
Although preferences are subjective and differ from person to person, the qualities people want stay relatively the same. Junior Macie Volkmar describes her preference for leggings.
“Aerie leggings are my favorite because they have amazing quality for the price,” Volkmar said. “I like to look for fabric, how tight they stay around my waist, how thick it is and Aerie does all of this.”
It is undeniable that Lululemon is currently one of the most raved-about brands among students at Antioch Community High School. It appears their popularity meets up with their quality. Junior Brynn Glauser gives insight about her own personal opinion on this brand.
“I think Lululemon leggings are the best to workout in because of the quality and fit,” Glauser said. “I think they can be on the pricier side but they are my favorite.”
Nike leggings are very similar to Lululemon and are a cheaper alternative with identical characteristics. Senior Madelyn Krawczyk provides an opinion on why Nike is her favorite workout legging.
“I like Nike the best because they’re breathable and they are not see-through,” Krawczyk said. “It is a perfect fit for different sized girls because the seams and fit are good and inclusive for all; all of it is good.”
Nike leggings typically range from $60 to $80, while other cheaper alternatives, such as Aerie, range from $35 to $50. According to “Influenster,” a popular review site, the average rating for Nike is 4.6/5. Many reviewers continue to repeat that the quality is good, but the price can be too high.
“I would agree with the rating, but a lot of people do not realize that good quality pants are always worth the expense,” Glauser said.
So, what really are the best workout leggings? The overall consensus amongst a self-reported survey at ACHS was that the majority of students favored aerie and Gymshark leggings. Some loved Lululemon leggings but said they are too expensive. There are cheaper alternatives to Lululemon that have the same if not better quality.
All in all, according to the students of ACHS, Aerie and Nike are the best leggings for a fair price, and Lululemon are a promising option, even with the price tag.
