Acne can be a part of any high schooler or adult’s life and not only does it happen due to everyday activities, but also due to the food we are eating,
According to Livestrong, “Acne can develop when your body is full of toxins and vulnerable to inflammation.”
Acne may be a pain that can cause stress and insecurities but here are a few tricks and products that can help with these unwanted blemishes.
Drink lots of water.
Water keeps you and your face hydrated, at first it will bring some impurities to your skin but they will ultimately leave, leaving your skin looking better than ever.
“Water helps flush those toxins and other waste materials out of your body, contributing to healthier, clearer skin,” Livestrong said.
Use a cleanser.
Using a soft daily cleanser on your face will cleanse your face without drying it out, giving you a fresh face. A daily cleanser like Cetaphil is highly recommended as it works for all skin types and won’t hurt your skin.
Exfoliate your skin.
An exfoliator to use once to twice a week is highly productive on acne. It helps get rid of dead skin that can ultimately be contributing to your clogged up pores. Exfoliating can also help lessen the appearance of acne scarring and even out skin spots.
Moisturize your face.
Moisturizing using facial lotions and oils like tea tree oil and coconut oil, will help the side effects of face washes, like dry skin. These oils will also help fight acne and work against your face aging. Sophomore Abby McWilliams shares her input on how tea tree oil helps.
“I think tea tree oil works the best because it usually clears my acne up within a couple of days,” McWilliams said.
Don’t pick at acne.
Picking at your acne will create unwanted redness and most times result in you agitating the area and not getting everything out. If you agitate it or don’t get everything out it can often create bigger pimples or more pimples in the surrounding areas.
