The Chicago Cubs were 3-0 in the series against the Washington Nationals. Sunday’s game caused quite the excitment, with good effort from both teams. Leading into extra innings, the score was an intense 3-3. The Cubs and the Nationals were back and forth with strike outs and hitting the ball, but no one was scoring,

“I was getting really nervous,” junior Zak Hebior said. “I really wanted the Cubs to sweep the series, especially [since] the Nationals are in second and the Cubs are in first.”

The innings kept going and going in what turned out to be a very long game. In the bottom of the 13th inning, Cubs infielder Javier Baez hit a walk-off home run to keep the Cubs’ streak alive, making the team’s season record 24-6. The last time the Cubs were 24-6 was in 1907 — the year they won the World Series.
