Volleyball is Back on Track With a Win
The boys volleyball team was able to defeat the Rams after recent losses.
After a tough couple weeks for the Sequoits varsity volleyball team, they were able to overcome this season’s struggles by bringing home a win against Grayslake Central in two straight sets.
However, before getting back on track this week, the team had trouble generating plays during crucial situations as well as being able to apply what they practiced to the game.
“As far as getting a win, we just [need] to forget about the mistakes and focus on getting the next point,” sophomore Trevor Niznik said
In doing those things, the Sequoits were able to defeat conference opponent, Grayslake Central, who are second in conference.
“We brought our A-game and everybody contributed to the win,” senior John Ware said. “I feel like it really boosted our morale and put us in a good state of mind for our game against Grant this Thursday.”
Now that the teams knows how to use their skills to effectively execute a game, they hope to obtain as many wins as possible this season.
“I hope we will keep this energy up, continue to have fun and stay focused on improving,” Ware said.
The Sequoits next game will be this Thursday, May 2, at home against Grant where the Sequoits hope to take another win.
