The varsity volleyball team lost a nail biter on Thursday, September 7 to the Wauconda Bulldogs. Although they lost, they put up a good effort winning 1 of the 3 sets. Senior Amanda Rowe led the team with 10 kills.
“I thought we performed well as a team. Although we were missing 2 players, we were able to come up with a rotation that worked,” said Rowe.
Despite the loss, the Sequoits believed they performed well under the difficult circumstances that they were under without senior back row, Brianna Vettese and junior back row, Emmy Faber.
“We stayed strong and everyone was putting in effort to make sure we kept the scores close,” sophomore outside hitter Cenie Frieson said. “We just need to improve on making sure we don’t get down on ourselves and make sure that we trust one another with the ball because trust is everything in the game of volleyball.”
The Sequoits fell to a record 3-1 with their first loss coming to Wauconda.
