Track and field holds a variety of different sporting events. From track races to field events, there are many ways an athlete can use their skills to earn points for their team. For senior Quinn Landl, track and field is more than just a competition; Landl has participated in track and field since the 6th grade and has held his passion throughout high school.
“Track and field is super fun. I really enjoy messing around with the team but also having that competitive edge when it comes down to the meets,” Landl said.
Track and field is also a great way to meet new people and create bonds that last a lifetime.
“Quinn is a great guy,” senior Landon Keefover said. “He’s funny and jokes around, but knows how to take training seriously so we can compete at our highest performance.”
Landl is a high jumper and has jumped for Antioch all four years of his high school career. However, Quinn doesn’t stop there.; he participates in other events just to help the boys overall score.
“Since we compete as individuals and as a team, I focus on high jump but have also jumped for long jump and even ran in open 800 and 400 races just to get the teams score higher,” Landl said.
Teamwork and hard work make Landl a great track and field athlete, and an all around good person. Landl plans to continue to train hard as he is looking forward to the upcoming outdoor season.
