Varsity Profile: Jena Burton
Sophomore Jena Barton is proud of what the Varsity cheer team accomplished this season.
Sophomore Jena Burton has been a base on the Varsity cheerleading team since she was a freshman. Burton feels this season was very successful, especially since they had placed fourth in state. She also thinks that she helps the cheer team in many different positive ways.
“I bring jump skills and strength to the team. I also have a positive attitude that helps the team keep pushing when practices get hard,” Burton said.
Burton is hoping next year is even better and that she can improve on her personal goals as well.
“I hope to improve my personal tumbling to help contribute to that aspect of cheerleading more,” Burton said.
Burton also appreciates her team for always helping and encouraging her.
“The team helps me push myself to get better and has helped me learn on how to keep a positive attitude. Many people on the team have taught me on how to become a better base,” Burton said.
Sophomore Rebecca Bargamian thinks Burton is a great person during cheer and outside of it as well.
“Jena is really encouraging and is always cheering people on. She is also a very strong base,” Bargamian said.
Congratulate Burton and her team for placing fourth at the state competition, and wish them luck for next year.
