Underground Artist: Mac Lethal

People have always been impressed with rappers who are able to keep a fast tempo, seemingly faster than humanly possible. Combine the talent of some of the fastest rappers in the world, like Twista and Busta Rhymes, and amazing writing that can almost be described as comedic; the result of the unlikely combo is rapper Mac Lethal. Born David McCleary Sheldon, Lethal grew up in Kansas City, Missouri. He later created his own record label “Black Clover Records” and is a radio host on KRBZ 96.5 Black Clover Radio. He saw rap as a way to tell a story and express his feelings. He creates songs like “You’re vs. Your” where he expresses how he is annoyed by people who comment on his Youtube videos with improper use of “you’re” and “your”. He also has a very interesting and satirically liberal theme to his songs, as seen in the song “How to Make Your Own Chick-Fil-A”. The song explains how to make a Chick-Fil-A sandwich because when he saw how Chick-Fil-A supported the resistance of LGBT rights, Lethal wanted people to make their own sandwiches instead of giving Chick-Fil-A their business. His music is worth listening to because of the interesting way he collaborated amazing verses, killer speed and stellar rhymes with funny topics that you have never heard someone rap about.
