Trick-or-Treat on the Streets
A highly attended event that takes place during the spooky season.
Treat the Streets is an event put in by the town that is celebrated every year around the time of Halloween. The event consists of children going from business to business in downtown Antioch to trick-or-treat. This year, it took place on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Many community members of Antioch got together to participate in this fall event. Even though Treat the Streets was held on a colder day than anticipated, the event was filled with excitement as children dressed in their costume of choice.
However, due to high winds and weather, the Monster Mash Bash which was supposed to include Wiener races, Pumpkin Roll and Costume Contest with games was cancelled for this year.
Junior Matthew Lawrence chose to be a part of this year’s event and had a great experience volunteering.
“Handing out candy to all of the kids was definitely the most enjoyable part,” Lawrence said. “There were some great costumes and I look forward to participating again in the future.”
As Treat The Streets came to an end this year, Antioch is planning to join in on the fun as many come to trick-or-treat on Halloween night.
