Treats the Streets in Downtown Antioch
The Village of Antioch offers old and new fall events.
With Halloween approaching, the Parks and Recreation Department of Antioch will be holding fall activities in the downtown area to help everyone get in the Halloween spirit.
The first event of the season is Treat the Streets. This event has been around for many years. It gives the opportunity to go trick-or-treating a week early and at the businesses in the downtown area.
“It’s a great time for all local businesses of Antioch to promote their business and a great way for the kids to wear their costumes and trick-or-treat before Halloween,” Administrative Assistant of the Parks and Recreation Department Bernedette Rowe said.
After Treat the Streets is the Monster Mash Bash. This is a new event to Antioch, this being its second year. The Parks and Recreation Department encourages everyone to dress up. They are also asking everyone to donate a pair of socks or a canned good to donate to Open Arms Mission, which will earn people five tickets toward games.
“We will have lots of games, a bouncy house, costume contest, musical chairs, pumpkin roll and a DJ playing music for dancing,” said Rowe. “It’s a fun fall festival for the whole family to enjoy.”
