Trade School vs. College

College is not the only option for a post-secondary education.

Most seniors in high school go to college as a post-secondary schooling option. However, that is not the only option out there. Trade school is another good option. Trade school is another option that students have to go to after high school.

“A trade school, also known as a technical or vocational school, is an educational institution that exists to teach skills related to a specific job,” vocational website The Simple Dollar said.

Trade school can be an excellent choice for those who have a specific idea of the field one may want to go into.

To get a job, be successful, and have money are all things that people may have said in order to persuade a student to attend a certain college. However, if college is not the best option, there is always trade school.

“I feel they are better for students who enjoy working with their hands and have a strong work ethic to succeed,” Vince Destrade said.

There are many differences between college and trade school, including how long it takes. Four years is a standard length of schooling for college students, while trade school is often only two years.

Trade schools differ from traditional colleges in a number of ways, including job-specific educational format, skill-based learning, lower cost of tuition, less time to complete the program than traditional degrees and specialized career offerings,” MyCollegeGuide.com said.
