Top Three: Spotify United States Top 50
Two of the most popular artists of 2019 hold a place for the trending top three songs.
So far, 2019 has been a very successful year for 24 year old Post Malone. He has been nominated for four Grammy awards at the 61st Grammy Awards for his album Beerbongs and Bentleys. The first song trending on Spotify’s United States Top 50 is Circles by Post Malone. Circles is from Malone’s newest album, Hollywood’s Bleeding that was released on September 6, 2019, by Republic Records.
“I think the album has a lot of emotions to it that expresses a lot about Post Malone,” sophomore Grace Semple said.
Malone’s song is about a person is realizing that their relationship is getting stuck in a constant loop of being together and then breaking up. Malone expresses the feeling of wanting to stay in the relationship but knowing that it will not work in the long-run.
“I feel that the song Circles is something others can relate to with their own meaning,” Semple said.
The second song on Spotify’s United States Top 50 is Ransom by Lil Tecca. Ransom was originally released on May 22, 2019 but is still rising on U.S. Top 50 for Spotify.
“It is a very catchy song and since the release date, it is still very popular within teenage age groups specifically,” junior Emma Allen said.
Ransom by Tecca was produced by Taz Taylor and Nick Mira. Soon after, the song reached number 93 on US Billboard Top 100 and has had many other accomplishments since.
The third song trending on Spotify’s United States Top 50 is Goodbyes by Post Malone (Feat. Young Thug).
In an article published by Sarah Osel from Highsnobiety, Goodbyes produced by Brian Lee and Lois Bell shows off Post’s signature style and emotion through his song featuring Young Thug.
The song also came out in Post’s album Hollywood’s Bleeding and it still very popular and trending as top three on U.S. Top 50 For Spotify.
