Theater Department Makes A Special Call
Theater students take advantage of technology to welcome guest speaker.
Watching a play and hearing the same person talk for minutes at a time doesn’t seem like something too difficult. However, mastering the art of monologues can be quite a difficult task.
The theater department was lucky enough to have a Skype call with Larry Silverberg, an author and master of monologues. Silverberg explained how to approach being a character in a play differently than the actors and actresses may have thought.
“Silverberg showed us how much better a performance can be if you be the character, not the actor,” junior Donovan Sanchez said.
Sanchez explained how helpful all of Silverberg’s information was, and how this will make not only him, but everyone who took part in this, a better actor.
The ACHS theater department is taking on the task to be on their way to becoming masters of monologues themselves.
