The very successful stock broker Jordan Belfort, played by actor Leonardo Dicaprio, had a mind set for earning millions. Belfort wanted fast and easy money. From the ground up, he started a stock broking business with a few buddies. The idea of the business wasn’t to help the stock buyer, as much as it was to help grow the personal wealth of Jordan Belfort and his closest friend, Donnie.
Martin Scorsese, a Golden Globe award winning director, did a fantastic job directing this movie. Scorsese is best know for movies dealing with people who have serious obsessions, in this case Belfort’s obsession with money.
Scorsese also directed The Aviator, Goodfellas and Casino, to name a few; these all dealing with people who have sever obsession problems. Scorsese picked a fantastic cast for this movie, with Leonardo’s seriousness to Jonah hills comedy, this movie has it all.
The Wolf of Wall Street received a Golden Globe award for Best Actor-Motion Picture- Musical or Comedy as well as a BFCA Critics Choice Award for Best Actor in a Comedy.
DiCaprio, the male lead in the film, won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture- Musical or Comedy. DiCaprio was nominated for a Golden Globe in Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role.
This movie is a critique of how to deal with drugs and female escorts. This film is not suited for all audiences. This film is not suitable for people under the age of 17 due to its mature content.
