The Wall of Former Faces
The ACHS Outstanding Students Wall is a constant reminder for students to make an impact.
Students at Antioch have all seen the massive wall in the front corridor. The faces of the former ACHS students smile wide every day for passerbys to see. With many students looking into their future, the prospect of being on the wall lingers on some teen minds. Freshman Justin Frye has future aspirations to get onto the wall.
“I want to be on the wall someday,” Frye said. “People will then know how much I care about my academics.”
Getting onto the wall requires many qualities for a student to exhibit. One such quality is having a positive outlook on school and other aspects of life. Another quality is being able to balance academics with extracurricular activities. Sophomore Matthew Edmark does not think getting on the wall is an easy accomplishment.
“I just feel like that wall isn’t meant for me,” Edmark said. “If I really tried, there could be a chance for me to get up there.”
The wall has led to success for some, with Paul Dejong being a strong example. Even without being on the wall, students can still find success outside of ACHS. With January gone and the start of February underway, now is the time for seniors to leave an impact on ACHS.
