Each year Starbucks introduces a unique line of fall flavors, such as the pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin cream cold brew, and pumpkin hot chocolate. This year Starbucks has renewed a fan favorite- the apple crisp oat milk macchiato. The macchiato consists of many warm notes.
“Layered flavors of apple, cinnamon, oats, and brown sugar combine in harmony with Starbucks® Blonde Espresso,” Starbucks said.“Creamy oatmilk, and spiced apple drizzle to create a delicious apple crisp you can sip. A nostalgic autumn pick-me-up.”
The apple crisp seasonal drink is rising in popularity this fall. Starbucks employee Alex is very passionate about her job and finds this drink beyond satisfactory.
“…the apple drizzle that goes on top [of the macchiato], is pretty good,” Alex said.
In a poll posted on the Sequoit Media Instagram (@sequoitmedia), 64% of viewers responded that the drink was a ‘miss.’ Junior Hannah Barczak agreed with the majority of voters and is not thrilled about this apple drink, describing it as having a “really fake flavor.”
To follow up with my personal opinion, I thought the new macchiato tasted slightly like what a Yankee Candle smells like… although potent, the combination of toasty oat milk and warm apples truly does taste like apple crisp.
The opinions are very controversial on this drink; the only way to know for sure if one is satisfied with it is to taste it for themselves. The apple flavor is super hard to master, and often it ends up tasting fake and too strong for most crowds. Others seem to think the drink is super loud, but adults seem to love it. Try the new apple crisp oat milk macchiato before it’s gone.
