John Mayer is releasing a massive album over a 12-month period.

John Mayer has been incognito in the music world for nearly three years. Mayer’s last release was his single “XO” in 2014. Many fans thought he was done making music, but on Nov. 17, 2016, he surprised his fans by releasing a single, “Love on the Weekend.” Sparking the attention of many, his single immediately went viral.

In the beginning of January, Mayer announced that he would be releasing a new album, but four songs at a time. Instead of releasing the 48 songs all at once, Mayer decided to release them in groups.

His album and year are “bigger and better than ever,” Mayer said.

The first four songs of his album, “The Search for Everything,” came out on Jan. 20, and they did not disappoint his fans. His song “Changing” has been on heavy rotation on the radio, along with “Moving on and Getting Over.” Currently, “The Search for Everything” is No. 17 on the Apple Music Top Charts.

According to “The Rolling Stone,” with the release of his album, Mayer also plans to go on tour in the summer with Dead and Company. In addition, Mayer will go on a month long world tour on his own starting in March, hitting Chicago at The United Center on April 11.
