Fanny packs were a very popular fashion trend in the 80s and 90s, however now they are making a comeback in the fashion industry. For example, they are frequently used at music festivals in place of a purse or while working out. At music festivals they help prevent pickpocketing because they can be worn in front. Fanny packs provide a hands free and accessible way to hold and protect the belongings inside. They are also smaller than a purse, so if someone were to workout and not want to carry all of their accessories, they would have more mobility.

“I use it when I go to concerts or festivals because it is easier to have it around my waist instead of hauling a bag around,” freshman Bridget Nauman said.

By wearing a fanny pack, personal items are out of the way and not a distraction. They are more desirable, especially since through the years they have grown to be a lot more fashionable. Fanny packs come in all shapes and sizes as well as colors and designs.

“My fanny pack expresses who I am because I got it from my cheer team Legacy as a gift for qualifying for worlds,” Nauman said.

Fanny packs are a great way to keep everything close, yet still looking good.
