In a highly anticipated announcement, ABC released on September 7th, who would become this year’s bachelor on “The Bachelor”.

They announced that Arie Luyendyk Jr. from season 8 will be this year’s contestant.

To many, this is a huge shock due to the overwhelming amount of sources and assumptions that said Peter Kraus from season 21 would be the bachelor for this upcoming season.

Although there may have been a possibility of Peter becoming the newest bachelor, an ABC executive released a statement saying that he just wasn’t ready to become the bachelor but is a possibility for next season.

This is a complete shock and an total upset to some but other viewers seem to be excited to see how Arie will be. Senior and “The Bachelor” fan Katie Sorenson shares her feelings about ABC casting Arie Luyendyk Jr.

“I’m not disappointed that it’s not Peter,” Sorenson said. “He seems like a swell guy and all, but it’s refreshing to have the next bachelor be someone from an earlier season instead of a person from the season right before the upcoming one.”

Although season 22 may not be with the bachelor everyone expected, all the roses will still be handed out, the drama will still be there, and it will end in one great proposal.
