All over the world people are creating and using art. The most popular form of art is music. Music can be achieved through listening, voice and instrumental. It can be used whenever and wherever one desires. For sophomore Teryn Jones, music is a big part of her life.
“I feel like people communicate through songs nowadays,” Jones said.”They display emotions and help [with] whatever it is people are going through.”
Music can be a literary art. It can be used as a learning tool for one to become a proficient musician. Sophomore Elliana Nordhaus participates in the Antioch Community High School’s band program.
“As a member of the band community, I believe that knowing how to read and play music can make it easier to interpret a song,“ Nordhaus said.
Music can be played by instruments and by voice. The ACHS choir program teaches students not only how to sing and read music, but how to also understand it.
“Being in choir definitely changed how I perceive music,” Jones said. “I know that behind every song there is a story and the lyrics are the way to connect with the story the songwriter is telling.”
A person doesn’t have to be a part of a music ensemble to appreciate and connect to music. One can listen to music and still be able to appreciate its art.
“Many people listen to music everyday and it’s something that everyone can enjoy,” sophomore Mckayla Johnson said.
Music is an art and everyone has the opportunity to have their own love for it. No matter where one is, music will always be with them. Whether one plays the guitar in their own rock band or listens to their favorite playlist as a relaxation tool for doing homework, they are all linked to the art of music. Through the many means of enjoying music it makes the bind that connects everyone together.
