The Fosters Returns For Second Season

Returning for a second season may not seem super important to viewers of a television show, but for the cast and crew it is extremely special because it means the first season was a success and had people coming back for more. The Fosters that airs on ABC Family just launched their winter premier of the second season. Anyone who has not seen or even heard of The Fosters should really give it a chance because it is different than most of the popular shows at the moment.

The Fosters are a family consisting of a bi-racial and same sex couple. They have one biological son from one woman’s past marriage with a man and together have adopted 2 children and will soon be adopting 2 more.  Both of these topics can be very controversial.

When the first season came to a close it ended with the couple Lena (Sherri Saum) & Stef (Teri Polo) tying the knot at a beautiful backyard wedding and becoming Mrs. and Mrs. Foster. They had decided before the wedding that they wanted to officially adopt Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Jude Jacob (Hayden Byerly) into their growing family, but with Callie’s guilt of kissing her soon to be foster brother Brandon (David Lambert) she decides to run away with her friend Wyatt (Alex Saxon) to escape being forced into another foster home.

The Fosters shows the love between a mixed group of people as they try to work out all their difference and become one big happy family.

Even if you are starting off the show with the second season, it is easy to catch up because before the show starts it summarizes all the past episodes for you in one clip. The past season can also be found on “ON DEMAND” if you have Comcast. It is also on Netflix. I recommend this show for everyone because it is not just a girly show or a teenage show. The show targets every age and both genders.

The Internet Movie Database (www.imbd.com) rates “The Fosters” with  an 8.1 out of 10. I personally agree with this rating because of how they take controversial topics and turn them into something that everyone can appreciate.
