The End to a New Beginning
Sequoits beat the Wauconda Bulldogs to end the regular season 7-2, and proceed to the playoffs.

As the players prepared to take on the field, the stadium was full of energy due to the last football game of the 2014 regular season for Sequoit football. It was a tight game within the first quarter but the Sequoits were able to maintain a steady lead throughout the intense game.
Senior Jacob Lanahan carried the ball all the way to the three yard line to help senior Alan Taylor get a touchdown with 1:19 left in the first quarter. Junior Nick Dorosan carried the ball and broke many tackles to get the ball just near the end zone. Taylor scored another touchdown with 1:36 left in the half, ending the half at 14-7 with the Sequoits trying to keep the lead.
After halftime, the Sequoits seemed to have their heads back in the game.
Senior TJ Pilarczyk carried the ball all the way to the endzone with 1:24 left in the third quarter. As the defense was able to stop the Bulldog offense, they forced them to punt with little time left in the third quarter. Lanahan out to receive in the backfield, ran the ball all the way to the end zone with eighteen seconds left in the third quarter to end the quarter 27-7. With two minutes left in the game the Sequoits scored once again. Dorosan ran the ball to score the touchdown and ended the game 33-21.
The biggest plays by the defense were made by seniors Matt Stiglic and Nick Mentone. They both intercepted the ball to help their fellow teammates maintain the lead.
The first playoff game will be held at Antioch on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 4 p.m. It will be the 7-2 Sequoits against the 7-2 Jaguars from King High School in Chicago. Get ready for another unstoppable fight from the Sequoits as they open a new chapter in their playbook.
