Summer in Winter Week Begins
Summer is visiting early this year with ACHS’ annual Summer in Winter Week celebration just around the corner.
This year’s mid-winter spirit week will start on Monday, February 13 and last through Friday, February 17. There will be a variety of activities and events hosted throughout the week for students to attend along with daily dress up days for students, staff and faculty to take part in.
Monday: Dress Day theme is movie day, where students will have the chance to dress as their favorite movie character.
Tuesday: Dress Day theme for Tuesday is teacher look-alike day. In addition, bouncy houses will be set up along with a baggo tournament in the afternoon.
Wednesday: Dress Day theme is class colors (Freshmen – white, Sophomores – gray, Juniors – red and Seniors – black). The National Art Honor Society will have face painting available in the commons during lunch hours throughout the day. In addition, the second winter pep rally will take at the end of the school day and Mr. ACHS will be held in the auditorium at 7pm.
Thursday: Dress Day theme is Throwback Thursday. The spanish club will be hosting limbo in the commons during lunch hours and there will be a student vs. staff bocker tournament in the south gym at 5pm.
Friday: Dress Day theme is spotlight day where students will wear different colors that correspond with their birth order (oldest children will wear red, middle children will wear yellow, youngest children will wear green, and only children will wear blue). Games will be available to play in the commons during lunch hours.
To top off the week, the Winter Formal will be held on Saturday at 7pm. Tickets are being sold all week in the commons during lunch hours and after school. Prices range from 15 dollars if bought during the week and 20 dollars at the door.
