Sports shoes are a big deal, especially in basketball. The shoes athletes wear in high school basketball can show what kind of player they are. The shoes a player wears represents what the player wants other athletes, spectators and coaches to see when they are on the court. Two of the more modern shoes professional athletes are wearing now are are “Kyrie 2’s” and the “Kobe 11’s”. Both are selling now for a decent price as well. The Kyrie’s are selling for $130 while the Kobe’s go for $200.

“The Nike Kyrie 2 is lightweight, but sturdy – ideal for players quick on their feet, and at $120, it makes a great bang-for-your-buck basketball sneaker,” Amir Ismael from Complex.com said.

A typically quick, play-making basketball player is more likely to wear Kyrie’s because that is the type of athlete the shoe is meant for. If a player is a high scorer and can get points at anytime, the Kobe’s would be shoe for them.

Certain athletes like to pay a little extra and customize their sneakers. Customizing a shoe can really help a player express their personality and give them extra style points from fellow teammates. If a player is really looking to impress teammates, coaches and fans they can look for retro, or classic, style basketball shoes. Retro sneakers are more popular in professional basketball since the players have more money than the average high school or college player.

The most popular retro brands are Reebok, Adidas and Nike/Jordan. The Jordan brand is at the top of the list when it comes to retro sneakers. Retro Jordan prices can vary from $200 all the way into the low thousands. If a player is looking for the greatest amount of style and class, and is willing to pay a pretty penny for it, the retro Jordan’s would be for them. Good basketball shoes have good grip, ankle support and are also lightweight.

Some athletes would rather have their teammates asking where they could get the same shoes than asking why didn’t you get a more stylish shoe. The shoes athletes wear in basketball are more than meets the eye. The style of shoes a player wears not only represents their personalities, but who they want to be as a player.
