Spirit Week Success

Homecoming week hype fills the halls

Sequoit spirit filled the halls this week for the celebration of homecoming! Homecoming week was filled with five fun days:

Monday– Mismatch day

Tuesday– Game day

Wednesday– Western day

Thursday– Beach day

Friday– Class colors/ Toga day for seniors

“My favorite day would be the beach day because it’s also our game theme so it made it feel a lot more like homecoming week,” said sophomore Natalie Svarc.

Each day draws out Sequoits to show their school spirit and best attire. Not only did everyone dress up but the attendance for  homecoming events was amazing. With people coming out to watch the Powderpuff game on Tuesday, the Dodgeball tourney on Wednesday, the Homecoming parade on Thursday and to see the Sequoits varsity football team on Friday, homecoming was a huge event.

The homecoming parade was a success, with multiple groups from our community coming out to show their excitement. After the parade the Sequoits proceeded down to the stadium where all the athletic teams showed off dances, had a kicking contest to see who could kick the farthest. The night ended  with fireworks and a fire.

The 2017 homecoming spirit week was a success; despite life being a beach sometimes. Happy homecoming week!
