The 16th annual Race for Hunger, hosted by the Farm Bureau, will be held on March 13 at 10 a.m at the Piggly Wiggly in Antioch.

Race for Hunger features two members of the community racing around the grocery store in search of certain items. This year the competitors are Lake County Sheriff Mark Current and Under Sheriff Ray Rose. Each competitor is competing for local food pantries.

The Race for Hunger starts with each competitor finding out which items they are looking for. They have a time limit, usually around five minutes, to find as many of the items as possible. These items are then donated to the food pantry that the competitor is representing. In the past, local businesses have added a bonus for the winner’s charity.
