The Sequoits came out firing on all sides against Woodstock North on Thursday. The boys managed to keep the ball on the Thunder’s side almost the entire first half, putting the pressure on Woodstock’s defense.

“The pressure that we put on them created many opportunities for shots,” sophomore Adam Lynn said.

In the middle of the first half, senior Bart Krumpos scored on an assist from Krystian Nicolov giving the Sequoits the lead going into halftime. Early in the second half Nicolov scored to give the Sequoits a two goal cushion. In the 58th minute of the game, junior Alex Keeler scored the Sequoits’ third goal. Four minutes later, senior Gabriel Tijerina added on more insurance with a free kick that he drilled into the upper right corner of the goal. The Woodstock North Thunder had very few chances to score because of the Sequoits’ defense and even when they did get shots off they were saved by senior keeper Noah Boehm.

“The defense was solid by not letting any goals in and supporting our offense,” Lynn said.

The combination of the Sequoits’ defense and offense led them to a 4-0 shut out at their home stadium, improving their record to 5-3.
