Sequoits Tame Panthers

Antioch dominates Round Lake throughout all four quarters.

Wednesday night, the Sequoits beat the Round Lake Panthers to secure their eighth win of the season. With injuries still lingering throughout the team, junior Michael Kawell was able to add 12 points and 4 steals to his stat sheet.

Injuries have been Antioch’s biggest opponent this season, which causes some of the younger guys to jump in and help the team get the win.

“ I think everyone on the team has stepped up,” Kawell said.

Some of the games have been down to the last quarter for the Sequoits. Even when they are down they find a way to scratch and claw their way back to the top.

“We’re working hard and grinding out wins even when we are not playing our best,” Kawell said.

With last week’s win at home against Vernon Hills and this win against Round Lake, the Sequoits look like things are starting to click together again with their eyes set on the future.
