Sequoits Take Home the Win at North Chicago
The varsity boys track and field team had a successful day and a first place finish at North Chicago April 23.
On Monday, April 23, the Antioch Sequoits varsity boys track and field team traveled down to North Chicago to take on the Warhawks as well as the Wauconda Bulldogs. With clear skies and mild temperatures, the track conditions were perfect for a great afternoon of racing. The Sequoit boys fought hard to accomplish their goal and dominated with wins in several events, coming home with the win overall. Junior Robert Christiansen took first place in the 4×100 meter relay. His teammates for the relay were freshman Dino Kaliakmanis, junior Benjamin Nauman and senior Javen London.
“Yesterday felt good, it wasn’t the best day of competing but it wasn’t bad at all,” Christiansen said. “Winning always feels good especially when you can share the feeling with your teammates.”
The boys will keep working, training and preparing for any opponent they may face. Their next meet is the Crystal Lake Invitational on Friday, April 27.
