Sequoits Suffer Tough Loss
Vazquez, Sequoits look to improve on rough start to season.
The boys Varsity soccer team faced Racine Park on August 25. The boys suffered a hard loss, but fought back in the second half. They trailed 4-0 going into the second half, they won the second half outscoring their opponent 2-1, but it wasn’t enough as the final score was 5-2.
“I think that the record will improve from now on. All the players and coaches want to win and are determined to make the team better. I believe in the team and think we will win,” said junior Rolando Vazquez.
With six new additions to the team they haven’t started the way they wanted to, with a record of 1-2.
“We always set high expectations for our program and once again we expect to compete for a Regional Championship, with the conference changing we have added a few more teams that will make winning conference challenging. We had to replace five solid players from last year and we expect our young guys to step up,” head coach Marni Polakow said.
Good luck to the boys at their next game on Tuesday, August 30 at Woodstock North.
