Sequoits Move to 8-0
North Chicago puts up a little fight against the strong Sequoit offense in a 42-14 victory for the Sequoits.
On the field last Friday, October 14, Sequoit football played their hearts out against the North Chicago War Hawks. 8-0 was the destined record at the end of the night, and 8-0 was what the Sequoits got.
Drew Porter tallied three touchdowns in the 42-14 onslaught of the War Hawks. The loss put an end to North Chicago’s playoff hopes, and continued the dream season for the Sequoits.
Two touchdowns for North Chicago came late in the fourth quarter and ended the shutout for the Sequoit defense. The aggressiveness and shutout was part of junior defensive back, Andrew Hare’s mindset on Friday.
“It was unfortunate that they scored those touchdowns at the end, but the defense knows they are playing well and we look to continue that is Friday,” Hare said. “We are getting a couple guys back for the game and it should be a big one. All eyes are on us since we are 8-0 and I know we can handle the pressure. I can’t wait to get another chance to claim the conference championship.”
Ranking in the top four teams in the state, Antioch is getting looks from all across Illinois. This Friday, October 21 will be a good test for the Sequoits, against the 7-1 Grayslake North Knights.
