Sequoits Girls Basketball Defeat Grant
The girls basketball team traveled to Grant to beat the Bulldogs, 64-46 by playing aggressive and as a team.
Friday night was a travel day for the lady Sequoits. The Sequoits entered Friday night with a record of 6-1; the Sequoits were ready to face the Grant Bulldogs, the gym was electric with Grant’s fan section and pep band but that did not intimidate the Sequoits. The ladies were locked in and focused for the game.
“We just really wanted to beat grant,” sophomore Piper Foote said. “They are one of our biggest rivals.”
The Sequoits got off to a very energetic and aggressive start at the beginning of the game.
“We had a lot of energy,” junior Amy Vasquez said. “We were also motivated to blow them out, to prove to the rest of the conference that we are the team to beat.”
The Sequoits were winning at halftime, 32-20.
Many teams come out of the locker room flat after halftime, however the Sequoits did not let that happen. By being aggressive on every rebound, and keeping the ball in their possession until a layup or open shot was available, the Sequoits defeated Grant, 64-46.
