Sequoits Get Bitten by the Bulldogs
The Sequoits lose a tough fought battle against the Grant Bulldogs 68-51.
The boys Varsity basketball team fought long and hard on Wednesday night, only to fall short of a victory. Sadly, the boys were defeated by the Grant Bulldogs, 68-51. The boys were upset with the outcome, but are hoping to use this game to motivate each other for their future. Junior Ryan Glassman looks at the positive side of things.
“The game was a good learning experience for us as a team,” Glassman said. “Grant is one of the better teams in our conference this year. They were hitting everything, but we couldn’t get our shots to fall. Sometimes, that’s just how the wind blows.”
Not every game goes how a team wants it to but hard practices can help to make the outcome a team strives for. Varsity manager, senior Mariel Almaria thinks that the practices will be different now, focusing on what the boys need to work on.
“I feel like they’re going to focus more on boxing out and rebounding since there’s a lot of standing around,” Almaria said.
Junior Jaden DeVaughn feels that they played well but there are always things that the team can work on.
“I feel like we played a good game, but we need to work on our defense more,” DeVaughn said.
The boys will continue to use this game as a learning experience. Come cheer the boys on at home on Saturday, Dec. 10 as they take on the Grayslake Central Rams at 1:00pm.
