Sequoits Fall to Eagles
Boys volleyball loses both sets to sister school Lakes.
The Sequoits boy’s Varsity volleyball team suffered a tough defeat against their cross town rivals, the Lakes Community High School Eagles, at home Thursday, April 6. Although the boys put up a fight, the Eagles soared to a victory by winning both sets in the match. Junior Ryan Glassman could tell from the start that the team’s energy was off.
“We weren’t very energetic in our warm-ups and that definitely showed during the game,” Glassman said.
Senior Nathan Cielek hopes to use the outcome of the match for motivation during the upcoming games this season.
“We weren’t talking,” Cielek said. “I think we just need to get our energy up during warm-ups and that will transfer over.”
Senior captain Sean Bering agrees with both Glassman and Cielek and knows that the team has a lot more to offer this season.
“Today was not a good representation of our skills and abilities this season,” Bering said. “I feel like if we communicate more in our upcoming games, we will do better. We now know what we need to work on and when we face Lakes again, we will be more prepared.”
Come support the boys as they compete in a quad at home Friday, April 7.
