Sequoits Fall Short to Bulldogs
Sequoits’ undeniable effort isn’t quite enough to beat the Bulldogs.

The Antioch Sequoits varsity football team gave it their all hosting the Wauconda Bulldogs tonight, but unfortunately could not pull out the win, with a final score of 17-10.
Starting off strong, the Sequoits scored almost immediately, but the Bulldogs fought hard to come back. The Sequoits were able to hold the score tied at 7-7 until just before halftime, when the Bulldogs took the lead 14-7. But despite the strong second half performance by the Sequoits, the Bulldogs came out on top.
“I am one hundred percent proud of my team’s effort– they took every play like it was their last and you couldn’t ask for a better effort out of these guys,” said senior running back Nick Andre. “We played to the whistle every play, but sometimes you just can’t capitalize on those things and sometimes the best outcome isn’t what you get.”
Despite this week’s tough loss, the team looks to come back next week and fight for a chance, although slim, at playoffs.
“Every week’s a new week,” said senior Tommy Howe. “We just have to refocus, look at what’s ahead of us, and prepare for anything.”
The Sequoits take on another Bulldog team next Friday, October 23 at Grant High School for what very well could be their last game of the season.
