Boys Basketball Bit by the Bulldogs
The Sequoit winning streak was snapped by the Bulldogs in a tough away loss.
Tonight, the varsity boys basketball team took on the Wauconda Bulldogs at Wauconda High School, resulting in a 51-31 loss for the Sequoits.
The Sequoits were able to stay in the game the first half, with a close halftime score of 19-17 in favor of Wauconda. The lack of shooting and ample turnovers led to an unfortunate ending for the Sequoits.
“We came out strong but had a few breakdowns that just kept snowballing on each other and took the game away from us,” said senior Nathan Formella. “We just have to put it behind us, learn from it, and continue moving forward in this young season.”
The boys look to use this game as an early learning experience and as motivation to succeed in the rest of the reason.
“We had some rough patches–we need to play more consistent and hit our shots,” said junior Logan Weber. “Eventually the shots will fall and we’ll be back on the winning track.”
The boys now have a 2-3 record for the season.
The Sequoits will next take on the Vernon Hills Cougars on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Vernon Hills High School.
