Senior Night Against the Warhawks Ends in Tough Loss

In a tough game, the Sequoits lost to the North Chicago Warhawks on Friday, February 16.

The boys kept up with the Warhawks throughout the first quarter and halfway through the quarter, the score was 10-5 in favor of the Warhawks. By the end of the first quarter, the Sequoits were trailing 18-12.

At the start of the second quarter, the boys weren’t giving up and were continuously working together as a team throughout the first half and the game as a whole. As halftime approached, the boys were down 45-27 against the Warhawks.

The Sequoits kept up the fight throughout the third quarter and senior guard Nick Galante ended the quarter with a buzzer beater, making the score 60-34, North Chicago.

“We didn’t play that great, we need to improve on staying mentally strong,” junior forward Jack Gillespie said. “I think that throughout the game, we rebounded well and played together as a team.”

Leading scorers throughout the game were senior guard John Petty and junior guard Dan Filippone.

The Sequoits ended the game with a loss of 69-43 against the Warhawks.

The boys’ next game will be on Thursday, February 22 at home against Lakes. Come support the boys as they take on the Eagles at 7 p.m. in the North Gym.
