Lena Dunham is everywhere. Not only is she the creator, producer, writer and director for the hit HBO show “Girls,” (a show which she also happens to star in) but she is also a contributor to “The New Yorker,” and has now released a hilarious and heartfelt memoir of her young life.

“Not That Kind Of Girl” is classified by Dunham as ‘a young woman telling what she’s learned,’ but the book is so much more than that. Dunham tells her hysterical and sometimes unfortunate life stories on topics of love, work, sex, friends and family, just to name a few. Name a bizarre life situation, Dunham has probably experienced it and retold it comically in her memoir.

Although Dunham’s life cannot be considered perfect or a walk in the park by any means, her strength both as a person and as a woman shine through because of the truth and bluntness of her writing.

“Not That Kind Of Girl” is a novel worth reading, whether you are a fan of Dunham’s or not. A hilarious novel sprinkled with hints of Dunham’s feminist voice and true life advice, “Not That Kind Of Girl” is relatable, moving, laugh-out-loud funny and a must read for all young women.
