REVIEW: Kanye West's New Song "No More Parties In L.A"

Another week comes around and Kanye West has once again released a hit. On January 18, Kanye released his third single called “No More Parties in L.A” that will be featured on his upcoming album, S.W.I.S.H.

In his new 6-minute single, Kanye brings out both the serious and funny side of himself. He shows what he chases after to motivate himself when he said, “I was uninspired since Lauryn Hill retired” and “I know some fans who thought I wouldn’t rap like this again.”

Along with his serious side, Kanye made jokes by referring back to an incident when an assistant crashed his matted Maybach. “No More Parties in L.A” also featured a monster verse from rapper Kendrick Lamar.

“I really liked Kanye West’s new song “No More Parties in L.A” because I felt that the beats were very unique and flowed well with the lyrics,” junior Mara Solano said. “I also thought that Kanye and Kendrick Lamar were a very good duo because they are both so musically talented.”

In “No More Parties in L.A”, Kanye also references lines from the song Breathe in Breathe Out” from his memorable album College Dropout when he said, “a back pack ***** with luxury taste buds” and “first ***** with a Benz and a backpack.”

“I love Kanye West’s old music and I was happy to hear him refer back to his older work in his new single No More Parties in L.A.,” junior Gabby Wolske said.

Kanye has been on a roll these past three weeks with every single being something totally different and unique from the other. He is always able to leave his fans wanting more and wondering what is in store for next week.
