Racing to the Finish

Freshman cross country runner pushes her self, team to place at regionals.

As she prepares for regionals, freshman Natalie Hill is confident in her cross country team and is hopeful they can make it to sectionals. Although Hill earned all-conference at Saturday’s North Suburban Conference Meet, she is not satisfied with her performance.

“I feel fairly good about how I did,” Hill said. “However, I’m not complacent with my time or place, and plan on being even faster at regionals.”

Hill placed 25 out of 80 in the varsity girls heat, receiving a time of 18:59. Nevertheless, she is determined to beat her time this coming Saturday.

“It always feels great to set a personal record, and it’s nice to know that I’m pushing myself as hard as I can every time,” Hill said.

Despite the fact that she was intimidated coming into the season, Hill has proven herself to her fellow teammates.

“It’s hard for me to say how well I think I’ll do at regionals, but I’m pretty confident in my team,” Hill said. “I’d say we’ve got a good shot at sectionals, and I really hope we make it.”
