PRINCIPAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Issue Resolved
September 15, 2016
Good afternoon, Sequoits,
I am writing to inform you of a situation that ACHS Administration and the Antioch Police Department have been collaborating on this afternoon. A student reported to our Deans’ Office that they discovered an unusual message written in the stall of one of our bathrooms. This message could potentially be construed as threatening in nature, while not overtly so. With that said, in close conjunction with the APD, we have determined the message to be non-credible and non-specific. We will jointly continue the investigation and provide updates if warranted or necessary.
It is our plan to conduct all school and Homecoming activities, as scheduled. We will have, and you may notice, an increased police presence on campus tonight, tomorrow, and tomorrow night for our events and during the school day. Please know that this is strictly precautionary and a direct result of the incredibly supportive relationship we have with the APD.
We are deeply committed to ensuring the safest learning environment and keeping our students, staff, and community members safe, at all times. We will diligently continue to take the necessary steps to realize these goals.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Respectfully,
Dr. Hubbard
