Being an Antioch Sequoit means more than just attending Antioch Community High School. It is all of the events that have occurred in this old school, all of the memories that so many people remember in these walls or being out in the Antioch community. Robin (Weldin) Hart, a 1982 ACHS aluma and 1982 Sequoia Queen, works as a paraprofessional at ACHS.
“When I look back at my high school experiences, I think of all of the friends I made and the great times we had together,” said Hart. ” I have a life long friend that I went through school with.”
Even though she did not keep in touch with all of her friends from ACHS, she still loves the community and how it allows her to see people she went to high school with.
“One of the good things about living in a small town is how you run into people you went to high school with and get the opportunity to catch up.”
Hart comes from a long line of family members who also attended ACHS.
“My father was a Sequoit back in 1958, both of my uncles also attended here as well. My nieces and nephews will be attending here as well,” said Hart.
Antioch also instilled a strong love for her family.
“My family was one of the biggest reasons I stayed in Antioch.”
Hart did not return to ACHS right away after leaving high school. It was not always her intention for her to return, but being here allows her to do what she loves by working as a paraprofessional.
“I worked for SEDOL and had the fortunate experience of meeting a boy named Dan Cruze while he was in 5th grade. I worked with him all through grade school, and when it came time for him to attend high school, ACHS offered to hire me on, so I came to work here as his one-on-one teaching assistant,” said Hart.
Hart loves her job here at ACHS and being an Antioch Sequoit.
“This place is a great place to work, and I like working with all of the kids here.”
