In order to honor and initiate new members into the National Honors Society, Antioch Community High School held their annual induction ceremony this past Sunday. To start the night, current members gave speeches and introduced each initiate. After reciting the NHS induction pledge, new and current members lit ceremonial candles together and spent the rest of the night celebrating the highly anticipated membership.
“It was really exciting to be a part of such a long standing tradition,” junior Stephanie Luc said.
In order to maintain membership, NHS members must complete 10 hours of community service each semester, maintain a grade point average of 3.7 or higher, and not have any disciplinary issues. Newly appointed members and selected future officers look forward to expanding their reach within the community and focusing on new projects in the year to come.
