High schoolers often strive to move toward a higher level of athletic skill. Antioch Community High School senior track and field shot put thrower, Olivia Moisa, got to make her lifelong dream come true by continuing her athletic career at Saint Ambrose University.
This is a monumental accomplishment for Moisa and the rest of her family because her brother, Jacob Moisa, currently attends the university and committed to the football program during his senior year at ACHS. In addition to that, their father, Dave Moisa, is a Saint Ambrose University alum. This made committing to St Ambrose University a no-brainer for the shot put star. Despite her skilled throwing abilities, Moisa has a very amicable personality on and off the field.
“Olivia is a very kind-hearted person with a hilarious personality,” senior Jazzy Fisher said. “I have had the pleasure of growing up with Olivia since kindergarten when we were on the same cheerleading team and we’ve been friends ever since then. I can’t imagine not having her in my life.”
Along with her immensely positive lifestyle, Moisa has an inspiring work ethic. She has gained strength each season and has grown into emulating a leader to her fellow teammates in her final year as a Sequoit.
“Olivia has evolved tremendously as an athlete,” sophomore Madison Maloney said. “She puts in hard work to always better herself and gets ready to compete at a higher level. She is one of our senior leaders who always makes sure everyone on the team is doing well and that we understand what we are supposed to do.”
It is evident to all that Moisa’s career has made an impact on involved in her athletic journey. Moisa looks forward to bringing the continuous energy to the next level with her.
“I’m excited to meet new friends and people and learn more about the sport learn how different the practices and meets will be at the college level and keep pushing myself to be better and better every day,” Moisa said.
Keep up with the rest of Moisa’s season as a Sequoit and follow her to Davenport, Iowa as she becomes a Saint Ambrose fighting bee.
