Model UN Takes on Chicago
Club demonstrates skills, learns about international relations at conference.
Antioch High School’s Model United Nations team showed off their skills this past weekend at the University of Chicago’s annual conference.
The conference was a four-day event spanning from Feb. 4 to Feb. 7 and took place on the University of Chicago’s campus in downtown Chicago. Antioch’s team stayed in the downtown area for the conference, using their knowledge and skills to do well in their division’s. Senior Robert Garrity won an award for his skills on the Disarmament and International Security Committee.
“We got to work with and meet new people from all over the world,” junior Alex Ruano said.
According to Ruano, the experience was unforgettable, and he said he learned new information he never before would have known.
Model UN will next compete at the University of Illinois during March 11 to March 13.
