Lokai Bracelets are the Newest Trend
A reminder of balance through the highs and lows
September 11, 2014
Recently, a new fad has broke out among people around the world. Steven Izen, creator of the Lokai bracelet, came up with the idea to remind those who wear the bracelet to stay hopeful when they’ve hit a low and stay humble when they are on top of the world. Although this bracelet is only a small symbol of hope, it has millions inspired to be happy and humble every day.
The Lokai Bracelet is made out of clear beads, as well as one black bead and one white bead on opposite sides of the bracelet. Izen came up with the idea to infuse the black and white beads with elements from the lowest point of the earth as well as the highest point of the earth. The black bead contains mud from the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the earth. The white bead contains water from Mount Everest, which is the highest point on the earth. The string of clear beads joining both the black and white beads is a representation that throughout life’s journey, your path is your own.
The creation of this bracelet was based off the personal experience of Izen. “A few years ago I found myself in a moment of sadness for my grandfather who had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. The black bead of the lokai bracelet holds mud from the Dead Sea to represent this moment, when I felt at my lowest point. Yet at the same time, I was struck with a feeling of immense gratitude for where I was in my life. The white bead of the lokai bracelet carries water from Mount Everest to represent this moment, when I felt like I was on top of the world” said Izen.
These two elements were brought together because life is full of cycles, and we all have our own story of balance to tell. Izen reminds us to stay hopeful by saying, “life is full of joy and sadness, and we can all relate to it’s highs and lows. I hope that the Lokai will remind you to stay balanced and centered along your journey.”
